Tajikistan
accounts for 75%-80% of heroin seized in the Central Asian region and 55%-60% of heroin seized in the CIS as a whole.
Rustam Nazarov, Director of the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA), told journalists this in
Moscow
on January 31.
“Success of fight against drug trafficking is in interaction between power-wielding structures of various countries,” the Tajik drug control chief said, noting that over the past six years, Tajik law enforcement and power-wielding structures jointly with Russian border troops that had been deployed on the Tajik-Afghan border before the mid-2005 had seized more than 47 tons of drugs. The totaled included some 25 tons of heroin, according to him.
Joint operations by Tajik special services and relevant agencies of
Afghanistan
,
Russia
,
Kazakhstan
,
Kyrgyzstan
, and
Uzbekistan
have led to the seizure of some 20 tons of drugs, with 11 tons of them being heroin, over the same six-year period, according to Nazarov.
“It has allowed protecting some 50 million people in the Planet against drug-dependency and withdrawing from criminal circulation billions of dollars,” Nazarov said.

, has told Asia-Plus that Tuesday [January 31] morning Rustam Nazarov also met with Viktor Cherkesov, head of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN). In the course of the talks the two considered common plans discussed common mistakes. During the meeting, Nazarov noted that so far

has reached the best mutually understanding with
Russia
and
Kazakhstan
. According to him, a total amount of heroin seized in the countries of
Western Europe
has estimated at 4 billion euros, while by retail prices its cost is more than 6 billion euros, which have not reached international terrorist groups.
