’s commercial industrial bank “TajPromBank” begins issuing cards by itself already this month.

According to information from the “TajPromBank” headquarters in


Dushanbe


, it has become possible due to TajPromBank’s joining the Visa International Association.  The source says the bank will emit plastic cards VIS Electron, VISA Classic, VISA Gold, Cirrus/Maestro    

 “The last preparations for emitting the plastic cards are nearing completion,” said the source, “At present we are also solving the issue of a rate of commission that will be charged.  It is to be noted the interest rate will not differ from that charged by other banks in the country.” 

According to information from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), three banks in

have to date issued plastic cards by themselves: “AgroInvestBonk”; “TojikSodirotBonk” and “OryonBonk”.  The NBT source says the Bank “Eskhata” also intends to emit plastic cards as well.   

As of June 1, 7,759 plastic cards emitted by the country’s banks have been in circulation in


Tajikistan


and a number of plastic card holders have exceeded 7,000 people.
