DUSHANBE, March 1, Asia-Plus – The Agency for Social Security, Employment and Migration has been set up at the Ministry of Labor and Security.

Anvar Boboyev, the head of the State Migration Service within the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that provisions and structure of the new agency were considered and endorsed at a February 28 meeting of the government.  

According to him, the Agency Social Security, Employment and Migration will have a staff of 522.  It will perform functions previously carried out by the Labor Ministry’s State Migration Service, Republican Employment Service and the Social Security Department.  Bahriddin Jabborov, formerly Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security, has been appointed to head the Agency.   

Boboyev added that the Agency will deal with issues related to ecological migration, domestic migration, work with refugees, organization of vocational training course for Tajik citizens for work both inside and outside the country.  It will also deal with problems of social security and employment inside the country, according to him.
