Fire has caused inconsiderable damage to the Dushanbe Hotel building. Four persons affected by carbon-monoxide poisoning are in good condition now, according to medical workers.

DUSAHNBE, June 29, Asia-Plus — The fire that occurred at the Dushanbe Hotel today morning has been extinguished.  

According to Tajikistan’s main firefighting service, they received call about the fire at the Dushanbe Hotel at 10:28 a.m. 

The fire broke out in the right wing of the third floor and five firefighting crews involved in extinguishing the fire dealt with it in 20 minutes, the source at the firefighting service said. 

The firefighting authorities attributed the Dushanbe Hotel fire to an electrical malfunction.

            The source noted that four persons, including one foreign citizen, affected by carbon-monoxide poisoning had been hospitalized to City Hospital # 3.  According to medical workers, they are in good condition now.  

            The fire caused an inconsiderable damage to hotel building.  “Only 15 square meters were damaged by the fire and damage caused to hotel amounts to 200 somonis,” the source said.  

We will recall that is already the second fire at the Dushanbe Hotel since the beginning of the year.  The fire that occurred at the Dushanbe Hotel on April 26 completely destroyed the hotel’s hayloft.  According to the firefighting service chief, 500 square meters of the hayloft were gutted in the blaze that is believed to have started on the roof.  The fire was caused by violation of the fire-prevention measures during welding work carried out by the limited liability company Vikomt.  A damage caused to the hotel by the April 26 fire amounted to 80,000 somonis.  No injured was reported in the April 26 fire.
