DUSHANBE, September 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Third Forum of the Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is opening at the Varzob governmental residence Pugus today.  

 The forum that is held under the motto of “Through Dialogue of Cultures and Tolerance to  Mutual Enrichment and Progress and the CIS Peoples” is aiming to consider issues related to development of education science and support for young generation and cultural heritage.   

The forum is dedicated to continue dialogue on the most topical issues of humanitarian cooperation within the CIS area.  Representatives of the CIS intelligentsia are expected to address one of the essential matters – national languages and national literature of the CIS countries.  The forum participants will also discuss the problem of translation, which presents itself not only in business correspondence but also in belles letters.

Besides, practical matters of organizing education within the CIS area will be discussed at the forum.

President Emomali Rahmon is expected to address the forum today.  The CIS Tree of Friendship gold medal, instituted by the CIS Parliamentary  Assembly and the Interstate TV and Radio  Company MIR, will be bestowed on President Rahmon.  The Assembly and MIR have honored Emomali Rahmon for his contributions to formation of integration space for the CIS states.      

The forum is supposed to result in adoption of a number of recommendations on the most topical issues such as development of dialogue between cultures for preservation of common humanistic values of the CIS peoples, formation of understanding of polycultural and polyconfessional picture of the world, mutual tolerance and respect, and creation of efficient mechanisms of civil society.     

The award ceremony for winners of the international poetic award “2008 Community of Debuts” will be held on sidelines of the forum in Dushanbe.
