KHUJAND, November 22, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The former defense industry enterprise, The Limited Liability Company Almos, in Khujand will produce home electronic appliances, the enterprise director Anvar Atokhojayev said.

According to him, the enterprise is currently rehabilitating production of electrical products, including crystal resonators.  “Shops for repairing computers and mobile phones are purchasing crystal resonators from us,” the director said.

“Besides, we have also developed production of consumer goods, including electrical pumps,” Atokhojayev said, adding that they had reached an agreement with one of Russian companies on joint production of stabilizers for mobile phone’s electric circuits.

He added that they had produced 106,000 somoni worth of output this year, which was nearly 30 percent more than last year.

Almos is the only enterprise for production of crystal resonators for electronic industry in Central Asia.  “60 persons currently work for Almos at an average monthly wage of 182 somonis,” Atokhojayev said.
