DUSHANBE, November 26, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan and China intend to launch a joint venture in Tajikistan for producing power transformers, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).

The source at a MoEI said that an agreement on launching the joint venture had been reached during a meeting of Energy and Industries Minister Gul Sherali with top managers of China’s Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Co., Ltd (TBEA) in Harbin, China.

“The sides are currently working on laying legal foundation of the establishment of the joint enterprises,” the source said, noting that the joint venture would be launched at the Qurghon Teppa transformer-producing plant.

Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Co., Ltd. (TBEA) is the first company in Chinese transformer production industry.  TBEA is the first company in Chinese important and large equipment manufacturing industry to gain the title of Chinese Famous Brand, Chinese Famous Products.  Simultaneity, TBEA is the important scientific research, produce and Export Company of transformer, wire and cable, high-voltage electric aluminum foil and assembly base on key parts of solar energy equipments in china.

The Tajik minister was on a seven-day working visit to China on November 17-24.  During his stay in China, Gul Sherali held talks with top managers of a number of Chinese companies.
