DUSHANBE, March 6, 2009, Asia-Plus — Visiting Secretary General of the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe (BACEE), Mr. Istvan Lendyel, yesterday met here with top managers of the Bonki Rushdi Tojikiston (Tajikistan Development Bank or TDB) to discuss issues related to further expansion of cooperation between BACEE and TDB, according to TDB’s press service.

During the meeting, the BACEE official, in particular, noted that TDB had yielded quite good results over the short period of its activity.  He expressed hope for further mutually beneficial cooperation and invited top managers of the bank to attend the 20th BACEE conference as partners.  The conference is expected to be held in Vienna, Austria in April this year.

The deputy head of the Association of Banks of Tajikistan (ABT), Vladimir Kim, took part the meeting as well.

The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) passed a resolution permitting the establishment of the Bonki Rushdi Tojikiston on September 19, 2006.  The bank was established as a closed joint stock company (CJSC) under Article 43 of the law “On the National Bank of Tajikistan” and Articles 17 and 19 of the law “On Banks and Banking Activity.”

TDB now offers a broad range of services issues, including accepting deposits in national and foreign currencies, cash operations, providing short-term and long-term loans, etc.
