President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev congratulates veterans and home front workers on the upcoming Victory Day, presidential press service reported.

“I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the Victory Day! This holiday symbolizes courage, bravery and patriotism of our nation against the fascists! Today we pay respect to those who gave their lives to protect the Motherland from the enemy, those who fell in battles, starved to death in concentration camps and those who nights and days worked on factories and field for one common sacred goal. Today we honor those who survived the biggest slaughter of the 20th century and put their lives to raise the earth from the ashes. Undying glory to them!

We celebrate the 9th of May with tears and soar hearts for the millions of ruined and beaten lives and cities and towns wiped off the map. This was a frightful price you paid for the peaceful skies we have now.
