DUSHANBE, May 29, 2009, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon Wednesday afternoon received credentials of new Turkmen Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan Nurberdy Amanmuradov, according to presidential press service.

In the course of the talks, Tajik president and new Turkmen envoy discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.  Practical implementation of agreements signed between the two countries was among major topics of the meeting.

The sides noted that Tajikistan and Turkmenistan had good potentials for expansion of political, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation and pointed to the necessity of intensifying activity of the Tajik-Turkmen joint commission for economic cooperation.
