DUSHANBE, July 13, 2009, Asia-Plus — On Friday July 10, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sharif Said met with visiting Pakistani delegation led by S.K Orakzai, General Manager of Army Welfare Trust, according to the CCI press service.
The delegation arrived in Tajikistan to expand trade and economic cooperation and during its stay here, the delegation intends to conclude a transit transport agreement with Tajik authorities, the source said. According to him, the agreement will facilitate direct cement supplies to Tajikistan.
The Pakistani delegation members included managers of Askari Cement, Abdul Jabbar Bhati and Muhammad Moshtak Hatak (phonetically spelled).
Besides, members of the Pakistani delegation also were interested in purchase of coals in Tajikistan for their industry. Tajik CCI head noted that those issues might be discussed at meetings with senior representatives of the ministries of transport and communications as well as energy and industries. Sharif Said noted added that CCI would support all business proposals of the Pakistani delegations.
