DUSHANBE, December 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A seminar on the national disaster risk management strategy and the plan of actions for implementation of this strategy will take place in Dushanbe tomorrow, according to the UNDP CO in Tajikistan.

The meeting organizers include the UNDP CO in Tajikistan and Tajikistan’s Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) and Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT).

Participants in the seminar will discuss subjects such as disaster risk management and development; institutional mandates and legal issues; disaster risk assessment; preparedness and response; and  management of knowledge: education, training and public awareness, the source said.
