DUSHANBE, February 1, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Three persons were killed and at least one other was injured in three traffic accidents in the country on January 31, according to the Tajik traffic police directorate.

One of these accidents took place in Dushanbe.  “The 20-year-old Andrey Bukharov being in a state of drunkenness ran his motorcycle Yamaha into a tree,” said the source, “Bukharov was injured, while his passenger, 21-year-old Viktor Aksyonov, was killed in the accident.”

Another fatal traffic accident took place in the village of Vorukh, the northern district of Isfara.  A car VAZ-21-06 hit the 10-yearold Bunyod Savriddinzoda.  The boy died on the way to hospital.

The third accident was also registered in northern Tajikistan.  Resident of the Asht district crashed his Niva (Russian jeep) into minivan GAZel on the way to the administrative center of Asht.  Passenger of Niva, the 77-year-old woman passenger, died as a result of the collision.

In all, 129 traffic accidents were registered in Tajikistan in January 2010, which is 29 cases more than in January 2008.  33 persons were killed (4 persons more than in January 2008) and 143 others were injured (33 persons more) in these accidents.
