DUSHANBE, February 23, 2010, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon yesterday evening received visiting Chancellor of Moscow State University of Culture and Arts also Chairman of the Association of Peoples of Russia Ramazan Abdulatipov.

According to presidential press service, Mr. Abdulatipov bestowed the Gold Medal of the Association of Peoples of Russia on President Rahmon for his contribution to strengthening of friendship and cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, Ramazan Abdulatipov informed Emomali Rahmon of the purpose of his visit to Tajikistan and noted that the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts had signed cooperation agreements with Tajik-Russian Slavic University (RTSU), Tajik National Conservatory and Tajik State Institute of Arts.  According to him, the sides reached agreements on further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of culture and training of personnel for Tajikistan.

“We have reached an agreement on holding of international cultural forum in Dushanbe in June 2011,” said Abdulatipov, “This year, the Moscow University of Culture and Arts will participate in holding similar forum in Paris.”

We will recall that Ramazan Abdulatipov was Ambassador of Russia to Tajikistan from June 23, 2003 to May 6, 2009.

Moscow State University of Culture and Arts was founded in 1930 and now it is a leading institution of higher education in the sphere of culture and arts.  The University has more than 11 thousand students and post-graduate students and citizens of 34 countries now study at the University.

High level of training at the University is maintained by highly-qualified professors, among them Honored Scientists and Art Workers, State Prize Winners, People’s Artists, Members and Corresponding Members of Sciences, Doctors of Science, Professors and Assistant Professors. They all use modern educational technologies in their work.
