DUSHANBE, March 6, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) has released the list of members of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of the fourth convocation elected through a proportional, party list system from a single nationwide constituency.

Five political parties managed to pass the 5 percent threshold needed to get a seat: People’s Democratic Party (PDPT); the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT); the Communist Party (CPT); the Agrarian Party (APT); and the Party of Economic Reforms.

The People’s Democratic Party:

  1. Amirsho Miraliyev;
  2. Akramsho Felaliyev;
  3. Ms. Khairinisso Yusufi;
  4. Ziyoratsho Sadullo;
  5. Mahmadsharif Haqdodov;
  6. Husein Aliyev;
  7. Ms. Khadicha Hakimova;
  8. Said Yoqubzod;
  9. Nizom Qosimpuri Jahongir;
  10. Ms. Munavvara Kenjayeva;
  11. Ms. Bibidavlat Avazlshoyeva;
  12. Jumaboy Sanginov;
  13. Ms. Makhfirat Khidirova;
  14. Bek Qurbonov;
  15. Talbak Salimov;
  16. Ms. Gulnora Hasanova.

The Islamic Revival Party:

  1. Muhiddin Kabiri;
  2. Umarali Hisainov.

The Communist Party:

  1. Shodi Shabdolov;
  2. Ismoil Talbakov.

The Agrarian Party:

  1. Amir Qaraqulov.

The Party of Economic Reforms:

  1. Mahmadsharif Nozimov.

Besides, the ruling PDPT won elections in 38 of 40 single-mandate constituencies, while voting will be re-run in the Konibodom constituency.

The PDPT member Nasrullo Mahmoudov and candidate of the Social-Democratic Party (SDPT) Shokirjon Hakimov are competing for a seat in parliament in the Konibodom constituency.  Since none of the contenders managed to win an absolute majority during the first round, the second round of voting will take place in this constituency on March 14.

Two other seats in the single-mandate constituencies were split between APT and the Party of Economic Reforms.

Thus, PDPT won 54 seats out of 63 in the Majlisi Namoyndagon in the February 28 poll.  The results mean little will change from the previous parliament where PDPT held 57 seats.
