President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave a symbolic start to the large-scale planting of 10 thousand seedlings, which is due to begin in just a few days. He planted a young tree in Geokdere gorge that he visited yesterday.
“The entire territory from Gindivar to Geokdere should become a recreation zone for thousands of young citizens of Turkmenistan,” the president said. He instructed the governor of Akhal province “to ensure a thorough preparation for the forthcoming spring planting campaign.”
It should be recalled that the ministries and departments, the Ashgabat city administration were charged with planting 2 million shade, ornamental and fruit trees in the area between the towns of Anau and Geoktepe. Another 1 million trees will be planted within all regions of Turkmenistan.
