KULOB, April 20, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Over the first three months of this year, the law enforcement authorities have confiscated five assault rifles Kalashnikov from residents of the city and the district of Kulob, Abdulvahhob Iskandarov, the chief of the Kulob police department, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

“Besides, one machine gun, one small-bore rifle TOZ-8 and hundreds of bullets of different caliber have been confiscated from local population over the report period,” Iskandarov noted.

According to him, 101 crimes have been reported in the city and the district of Kulob in January-March 2010, which is 2 cases fewer than in the same period last year.  The crime detection rate for January-March 2010 was 94.9 percent.
