Isfara. June 17. “Asia – Plus” — Tajikistan delivers relief assistance to neighboring Kyrgyzstan. 18 Kamazs delivered 180 tons of assistance worth 400,000 Somoni to Batken district.
Relief assistance in the form of flour, oil, vegetables, fruits and fuel was delivered in accordance with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon’s decree, representative of Sughd area for Batken district Giesiddin Karomatdinov told the AP. Part of the assistance is provided for Jalaabad district, while another part will remain in Batken.
“The trucks were welcomed by Batken’s Governor Sultan Aijigitov,” Karomatdinov has said.
No refugees from neighboring Kyrgyzstan are found in Batken district as yet. There is no spontaneous movement of citizens of Kyrgyzstan to Sughd area of Tajikistan, an acting mayor of Isfara Subkhon Ashurov told the AP.
