DUSHANBE, October 8, 2010, Asia-Plus – One of five militants killed last week in fighting with Tajik government forces in the Kamarob Gorge east of Dushanbe has been identified as a Russian citizen, RFE/RL”s Tajik Service reported on October 8.

The man was carrying a passport identifying him as Ramil Hamziyaevich, a 34-year-old from the Bredovo district of Moscow Oblast, a local resident told RFE/RL.

The bodies of all five men were on display in the yard of the central hospital in the Rasht district, the scene of the fighting. Two local residents told RFE/RL separately that the men are not locals, as no one in the area recognizes them.

The only passport among the men was the one identifying the man as Hamziyaevich.
