DUSHANBE, October 12, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A meeting of executing body heads from the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is taking place in Moscow today, according to the CIS Executive Committee.

For years the CIS Executive Committee and the CST Secretariat have been taking measures to promote expansion and strengthening of cooperation with other international organizations dealing with the security providing problems, the CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev said.

According to him, due to the taken efforts a meeting of executing body heads from the CIS, SCTO and EAEC as well as senior representatives from the NATO, the European Union, the United Nations and the OSCE took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan in July this year.

“In Almaty, we discussed in detail issues related to cooperation in various fields and decided to continue the practice of such meetings ,” noted the CIS executive secretary, “In Moscow, we hope to discuss at greater length how we could promote providing international security.”
