DUSHANBE, October 15, 2010, Asia-Plus  — By October 14, Tajikistan has reached 45 percent of the autumn conscription target, Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a chief spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), told Asia-Plus Thursday afternoon.

In the territorial cross section the percentage the target reached were: Gorno Badakhshan – 71 percent; Khatlon – 48 percent; districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) – 40 percent; Sughd – 43 percent; and Dushanbe – 31 percent.

The city of Norak as well as districts of Murgab and Roshtqala in Gorno Badakhshan and Shahriston district in Sughd province have already fulfilled their conscription targets, the spokesman said.

The autumn conscription campaign is carried out from October through November, and the draft affects able-bodied male citizens in the age bracket of 18 years old to 27 years old who are not members of the armed forces reserve.
