DUSHANBE, October 19, 2010, Asia-Plus — The Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan has filed a lawsuit in the Higher Economic Court against Tojiktransgaz (natural-gas distributor), the Higher Economic Court chairman Amirkhoja Ghoibnazarov remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe  on October 19.

“The claim has been sent for examination in order to determine the exact amount of Tojiktransgaz’s tax debts,” Ghoibnazarov said.

We will recall that the Tax Committee source told Asia-Plus on October 8 that tax debts in Tajikistan rose by 70.127 million somoni in eight months to September 1, 2010, reaching 371.127 million somoni, according to the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan.  He added that the most incorrigible tax defaulters among enterprises were sub-divisions of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Tojiktransgaz (natural-gas distributor).  “The tax arrears of Tojiktransgaz’s sub-divisions now amount to 4.766 million somoni,” he noted.
