KONIBODOM, October 23, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The Khujand-based microlending organization, IMON International, has upgraded its representative office in the northern city of Konibodom into a branch that has allowed creating five new jobs and bringing the total number of employees to 20.

According to the IMON International branch in Konibodom, they now have 1,692 customers in Konibodom and 7,921,230 somoni have been provided to them in loans since the beginning of the year.

“More than 1.171 million somoni have been provided to enhance the agrarian sector in the district alone,” said the source.  “To improve quality of services rendered to rural population, IMON International has opened its customer service outlet in the village of Lohuti and two similar outlets are expected to be opened in two other villages in the near future.”  

IMON International reportedly has a number of branches throughout Tajikistan and their entrepreneurs work in many parts of the country”s economic sector including trade, manufacturing, agriculture, and services.  It provides business loans, agro loans, consumer loans, and micro leases.
