DUSHANBE, October 26, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Investigation into case of Fayzullo Bobokhonov, the son of former Tajik Prosecutor-General Bobojon Bobokhonov, has practically been completed and it will move to a court soon, the director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption Fattoh Saidov told reporters in Dushanbe on October 26.

According to him, investigation has established that Fayzullo Bobokhonov, a former chief prosecutor of Hissar, district, has been involved in 14 cases related to bribery, office abuse, misuse of powers, service forgery, fraud, etc.

We will recall that former chief prosecutor of Hissar district Fayzullo Bobokhonov was arrested in Dushanbe on July 23 on corruption charges.  His arrest followed the dismissal of 15 regional prosecutors amid graft allegations over the past six months.

Fayzullo Bobokhonov was charged with being an accomplice in a bribe-taking incident involving $20,000 while serving as chief prosecutor of Hissar.  He was dismissed from that position earlier this year, shortly after his father retired as prosecutor-general after serving for 10 years.
