DUSHANBE, July 9, 2011, Asia-Plus — Days of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (Gorno Badakhshan or GBAO) are being held at the Boghi Iram (Dushanbe Botanical Gardens) in Dushanbe today.

Various handicrafts and national dishes of the peoples of Gorno Badakhshan have been put on display at the exhibition in the Boghi Iram.  Besides, a concert with participation of the GBAO artistes will take place today.

Today, Days of Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province and the northern city of Taboshar are being held in Dushanbe as well.  Days of Qurghon Teppa are being held in the Friendship of People’s Park and Days of Taboshar are being held at the Alexander Mironenko Square.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office says such events are held in Dushanbe in accordance with order by Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev of March 11, 2011.  30 such events have reportedly been held in Dushanbe to date.
