President Rahmon is confident that the opening of the Moscow Steel and Alloy Institute’s branch will have positive economic effect in terms of training of highly professionals.

Education and science are the basics of the development of any nation. Tajikistan attaches much attention to education sector, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said today at the opening ceremony of the branch of the MSAI’s National Research and Technology University in Dushanbe.

President said the development of modern technologies directly depends on education sector’s activity, education level in the country.

President Rahmon also said that Tajik-Russian cooperation in education and science sector has reached a new quality level. He said it can be proved by the opening of branches of the Moscow State University (MSU) and MSAI in Dushanbe.

President Rahmon added that the opening of MSAI’s branch will have positive economic effect in terms of training of high professionals for industrial enterprises of the country.

Rahmon thanked Russian authorities for their assistance to the opening of the branch of one of Russia’s most prestigious universities in Tajikistan. “We are proud and appreciate Tajik-Russian friendship,” Tajik President said.

MSAI rector Dmitry Livanov said that the university has serious plans for Tajikistan. In particular, it is planned to set up a technology park on the basis of the university’s branch, which will be used to test state-of-the-art technologies, which will be applied in Tajikistan’s industry in the future.

“MSAI’s Board is planning to set up a technologic university in Tajikistan, where students will study ore and mining industry and nanotechnologies,” Livanov stressed.

MSAI’s National Research and Technology University was founded in 1930, when the Moscow Steel Institute was set up. Currently, MSAI’s NRTU is the leading Russian engineering and scientific university which prepares specialists in metallurgy and material science, metal production and processing, production of composite, powder, superconductive and semiconducting materials, development of potential materials and technologies, resource saving and ecology, certification and quality management, economy and management, information science and ACS.
