The court of Matcha region has found Mahadmirzo Sharipov, a 48-year-old resident of Sabag village of Poldarak Jamoat of Matcha region of Sughd province, guilty under Article 32 (preparation to commit and attempt to commit a crime) and Article 104 (murder).

The court sentenced his to 11 years of imprisonment, but reduced the term of imprisonment by one forth in accordance with the Amnesty Law, Prosecutor’s Office for Matcha region told AP.

According to the source, Sharipov’s son, who grazed his relatives’ cattle, had a dispute with a local resident Abdurahim Safarov on May 3, 2011.

“When the convict found about it he told Safarov by the telephone that the next day he would settle the issue. On May 4 he took his gun and went to Safarov. When he found the latter he shot several times in his fellow villager. Even though Safarov got multiple injuries and wounds, medics have managed to rescue him,” the Prosecutor’s Office reported.

Sharipov will serve his sentence in a high security prison.
