DUSHANBE, April 13, 2012, Asia-Plus – On Friday April 12, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met in Brussels with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and European Affairs, Didier Reynders.

According to the Tajik president’s office website, President Rahmon highly appraised the role of Belgium in implementation of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCS) between Tajikistan and the European Union and the European Union’s Strategy for Central Asia.

The sides underlined the role of the Belgian-Tajik Business Club in promoting expansion of bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Belgian-Tajik Business Club , which is an independent, private, non-governmental and non-profit organization, was founded in Belgium in April 2011 to promote expansion of bilateral cooperation between Belgium in the field of the field of industrial, commercial, agricultural and cultural exchanges and assist all those in Belgium who are interested in Tajikistan and vice-versa.

Rahmon and Reynders also discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation between their countries in the field of politics, security, economics, science and culture.

They also exchanged views on the latest developments in Afghanistan and expansion of cooperation to support reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy and revival of peaceful life in this country, the source said.
