DUSHANBE, June 18, 2013, Asia-Plus – A 53-year-old woman has been detained in Sughd province on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.

The Interior Ministry’s website reports resident of Khujand Safarkhonum Mirjonova, 53, was detained by police officers in the Bobojonghafurov district on June 17.

8.81 kilograms of drugs were confiscated from her. A totaled included 6.127 kilograms of hashish and 1.954 kilograms of heroin.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddler and an investigation is under way.
