DUSHANBE, June 25, 2013, Asia-Plus — As part of his state visit to Kuwait, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday met in Kuwait City with Mr. Abdulwahab Ahmad Al-Bader, Director-General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the sides discussed issues related to attraction of investments for development of Tajikistan’s energy and transportation sectors.

Mr. Abdulwahab Ahmad Al-Bader reportedly noted that KFAED was ready to finance the project for reconstruction of the spillway tunnel at the Baypaza hydroelectric power plant (HPP) and participate in financing of construction of the Shourob, Nourobod-1 and Nourobod-2 hydropower plants in Tajikistan.

On the same day, President Rahmon met with Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber, Minister of Ruler’s Court (Al-Diwan Al-Amiri).  Their talks focused on the issues of implementation of agreements reached between the two nations.

President Rahmon’s meeting with Mr. Nazar Mohammad Al-Adsani, Executive Director of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), focused on issues related to establishment of cooperation in the field of extraction and processing of oil, the president’s website said.
