DUSHANBE, July 1, 2013, Asia-Plus — An Afghan drug dealer has reportedly been arrested in Tajikistan.

The Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center reported on July 1 that an operation by drug control officers has led to the arrest of the 30-year-old resident of Afghanistan’s Badakhshan Province in Tajikistan.

The preliminary investigation has established that the detainee last April organized the smuggling of 113 kilograms of narcotic drugs into Tajikistan, the DCA press center said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug dealer and an investigation is under way.
