DUSHANBE, July 29, 2013, Asia-Plus – Issues related to development of tourism and small entrepreneurship in Tajikistan were a major topic of a meeting of Mr. Davlatali Saidov, Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) of Tajikistan with Mr. Robin Ord-Smith, UK Ambassador to Tajikistan Mr. Derek Bathom, VSO Tajikistan Country Director and Professor Philip Riddle, Tourism Development Advisor at VSO that took place in Dushanbe at the end of last week.
In the course of the talks, Saidov expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation with Ambassador Ord-Smith, who is the head of the development partners working group for improvement of investment climate in Tajikistan’s tourism sector, and appreciated development partners’ work on analyzing the country’s tourism sector, the GosKomInvest press center said.
Saidov also informed guests of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund established at the GosKomInvest and offered collaboration to representatives of VSO International on providing project planning and development training programs to local entrepreneurs.
Ambassador Ord-Smith, for his part, expressed readiness for further mutually beneficial cooperation and offered to use an advanced experience of VSO International in development of tourism sector in Scotland.
The sides reportedly expressed wish to further cooperation on improving investment climate in the tourism sector and supporting entrepreneurship in Tajikistan.
