DUSHANBE, August 17, 2013, Asia-Plus – Thirteen lawyers have taken refresher training, organized by  Tajikistan Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law (BHR) in the framework of the “Equal Before the Law: Access to Justice in Central Asia” program.

According to BHR, the main objectives of the training that was conducted on August 12-14 were in exchanging experience, strengthening interaction, seeking solutions to arising problems during the process of providing legal consultations and defining further ways of fruitful cooperation with law enforcement and judicial bodies as well as local authorities.

“Equal Before the Law: Access to Justice in Central Asia” is a program funded by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and implemented by the Eurasia Foundation and the Eurasia Foundation in Central Asia.  EBL seeks to improve access to justice for vulnerable people by strengthening the ties between international and national law, and between national law and the actual experience of people, in the five former Soviet Central Asian republics. The program started in July 2011, and will run through December 2013.
