DUSHANBE, September 19, 2013, Asia-Plus – Mahmadali Hayit, deputy leader of the Islamic Revival Party (IRP), has been elected to head the pre-election campaign staff of Ms. Oynihol Bobonazarova.

A joint meeting of the IRP and the Social-Democratic Party (SDP) took place in Dushanbe on September 18, and Mahamdali Hayit was elected head of Bobonazarova’s pre-election campaign staff.

A source at the IRP says Tajik known lawyer Mahmoudjon Qosimov, who is activist of unregistered New Tajikistan party, was elected deputy head of Bobonazarova’s pre-election campaign staff.

“The first meeting of the pre-election campaign staff of Ms. Oynihol Bobonazarova has considered issues related to collection of signatures, her agitation program as well as collection of funds to support her candidacy,” the source said.

We will recall that the Tajik Association of Reformist Forces (TARF), a coalition of the Social- Democratic Party and prominent public figures, has support lawyer and rights activist Oynihol Bobonazarova as its candidate, and the Islamic Revival Party confirmed its support for Bobonazarova at a party congress on September 17.
