DUSHANBE, September 26, 2013, Asia-Plus – A delegation of Tajikistan’s savings bank, Amonatbonk, is participating in the 2013 Euro-Asia Economic Forum (EAEF) that is being held in Xian, the capital of China’s Shaanxi province from September 26 to September 28.

Organized by the Shaanxi provincial administration and a number of Chinese ministries under the auspices of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the event has reportedly brought together senior officials of a number of countries, heads of leading international financial institutions as well as heads of banks-members of the SCO Inter-Bank Association to discuss issues related to financial cooperation and providing support for development small and medium-sized enterprises in the Eurasian region.

The forum is reportedly held under the theme “From Concrete Collaborations to Mutual Booming.”

Over the last eight years, the Euro-Asia Economic Forum has become a mature platform for efficient communication and mutual cooperation between the Eurasian nations.  It has played a vital role in helping these countries establish closer ties, which have allowed them to cope with economic turmoil and strive for common development and prosperity.

The biennial Euro-Asia Economic Forum was first launched in Xi”an in 2005; the city was named as a permanent venue for the forum in April 2007.

Amonatbonk is the only state-owned bank.  It is one of the oldest in Tajikistan (established in 1925) and one of the largest based upon various criteria – including the number of branches and the number of served clients.  The institution is unique in its orientation towards implementing social, pension and other state programs.  Amonatbonk has 5 regional centers, more than 70 branches and nearly 500 agencies.  This gives the institution a presence in the most remote mountainous parts of the country.
