DUSHANBE, November 14, 2013, Asia-Plus – Current trends in migration within the CIS region is a major topic of a session of the Council of Heads of Migration Service Agencies of the CIS member nations that is taking place in Minsk, Belarus tomorrow, November 15.

According to the CIS Executive Committee press center, the meeting participants are expected to discuss a draft plan of actions for implementation of the concept of concerted social and demographic policy and the progress of implementation of the illegal migration prevention program designed for 2012-2014.

They will also discuss the programs for training of specialists dealing with migration issues and approaches of the CIS member nations to the issue of granting asylum and refugee status.

The Council members will also discuss issues related to the coverage of migration problems in media, formation of a common labor migration market and its influence on regulation of the migration processes within the CIS area, regulation of border labor migration, and cooperation with international organizations dealing with migration problems.
