DUSHANBE, December 2, 2013, Asia-Plus — During his visit to Tajikistan, Sergey Litvinenko, top manager of Latvia’s Serge Kozak, has reportedly offered construction of regional railways in Central Asia running through Tajik territory.
According to the Ministry of Transport (MoT)’s website, this issue was discussed here at the end of last week at a meeting of Litvinenko with Tajik First Deputy Minister of Tajikistan, Jumakhon Zuhurov.
The two, reportedly discussed construction of railways in the Central Asian region running through the territory of Tajikistan.
A source at a MoT noted that negotiations were still at the initial stage.
Established in 2008, Serge Kozak is group of the incorporated companies dealing with international trade and logistics. Group of companies started to develop its own transport corridor between Eastern Europe and Middle East / Central Asia.
According to information posted on Serge Kozak’s website, the company’s basic directions of activity include: international trade of various kinds of grain and other agricultural products from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan in countries of Middle East and North Africa; international trade of oil and petroleum products – fuel oil, diesel, paraffin wax and other petrochemical products; freight forwarding services for international container transportation of goods from Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria) to Middle East and Central Asia (Turkey, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia) and back; and operating the own and leased fleet of containers and railway wagons on Railways of Middle East and Central Asia.
