DUSHANBE, April 15, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday April 15, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated two new industrial enterprises in Vahdat Township, some 17 kilometers to the east of Dushanbe.

The enterprise for processing leather and manufacturing leather shoes and clothing has been constructed by local entrepreneur Abduqahhor Kholov and his partners from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).  A total cost of this project is 10 million somoni.

This enterprise with capacity of processing 500,000 leathers from hides of cattle as well as sheep and goats per year is provided with the state-of-the-art equipment.

The enterprise for manufacturing plastic pipes having diameters from 200 mm to 1200 mm has been constructed by the Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation under the Government of Tajikistan.

It is reportedly still the first and the only enterprise in Central Asia producing large diameter plastic pipes.

More than 7 million somoni have been spent for construction of this enterprise that has created 45 new jobs.
