DUSHANBE, April 22, 2014, Asia-Plus — A meeting of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), presided over by the Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda, took place here on Aril 21.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the meeting reviewed the results of the first quarter’s work.

Over the first three months of this year, 28 cases of murder and attempted murder have been reported in the country and 89 percent of them have been solved.

Besides, 928 cases of fraud have been reported in the country of the same three-month period, which was 437 cases more compared to the same period last year.

Over the report period, Tajik law enforcement authorities have seized 682 kilograms of narcotics.  A totaled included 56 kilograms of heroin, 145 kilograms of raw opium, 196 kilograms of cannabis, and 284 kilograms of hashish.  More than 54.1 percent of this amount has reportedly been seized by police officers.

94.4 percent of all the crimes have been solved over the first three months of this year, compared to 93.3 percent in January-March 2013, the website said.
