DUSHANBE, July 11, 2014, Asia-Plus — One person was killed and one other was injured in two separate accidents that occurred during rehabilitation works at the site for construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP) over the first six months of this year, Sijouddin Salomzoda, the head of the Main Directorate for Safety of Works in Industry and Mining under the Government of Tajikistan told journalists in Dushanbe on July 11.

“The 38-year-old worker Jailobov died last month after he fell from a 23-meter height,” said Salomzoda.  “Besides, the 27-year-old employee of Iran’s company Umran Harun (phonetically spelled), which is involved in rehabilitation operations, sustained various injuries in mid-sprig while working in one of tunnels.”

In all, five persons have been killed in accidents at industrial facilities over the first six months, the head of the Main Directorate for Safety of Works in Industry and Mining added.
