DUSHANBE, August 1, 2014, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe mayor has sacked directors of Dehqon and Sakhovat bazaars and ordered to shut down two private bazaars in Dushanbe for failing to  implement the mayor’s office recommendations on prices for basic food products during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Deputy Mayor, Burhon Nazarov, told journalists in Dushanbe on July 31.

“The mayor has also noted that Dushanbe’s bazaars do not meet sanitary requirements,” the deputy mayor said.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, added that Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev had held an extraordinary meeting with local entrepreneurs and directors of Dushanbe’s bazaars ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and warned that those who will not implement the mayor’s office recommendations on prices for basic food products during Ramadan will be sacked and private bazaars that will not observe those rules will be shut down.

“The Hamdiyoron bazaar located in Dushanbe’s Firdavis district has been shut down for failure to observe the mentioned rules and prosecutors have launched probe into the activity of the bazaar located in neighborhood 102,” Saidov noted.
