A safety engineer in a research and production association in Soghd province is suspected of obtaining $18.5 thousand through fraud.
Office of the Anti-Corruption and Financial Control Agency in Soghd province reported to Asia-Plus that H.A., a safety engineer at Rahman Nabiev Research and Production Association in Babajan Ghafourov District attained the trust of A.F. and illegally obtained $18.5 thousand from the latter (reportedly to get 0.10 hectares of land from the land that the Association is getting rid of in Babajan Ghafourov district).
A criminal case is opened against H.A. based on Article 247, part 4 (large scale fraud) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan and the investigation is ongoing.
According to the Anti-Corruption Agency Office in Soghd province, 74 fraud facts were reported in the Province, while 47 were reported in 2013.
