Fifty-four-year-old street cleaner, Ms. Zevarmo Pirova, died instantly after Mercedes hit her while she was sweeping street near Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel.  The accident took place on September 28, at around 4:30 am.

“The blow was so powerful that Zevarmo’s body was torn to pieces and her two colleagues fell down in a faint as they contemplated the scene.  They were taken to the National Medical Center (Qariyai Bolo hospital),” Nazri Niyozov, the acting head of the road servicing department in Dushanbe’s Sino district, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

“Traffic police officers said Monday morning that they have detained the reckless driver,” Niyozov noted.  According to him, traffic police officers refrained from naming the driver.
