DUSHANBE, December 30, 2014, Asia-Plus — Mubinjon Mahmoudov, who had previously served as head of the Communist Party (CPT)’s organization for Khujand, has been appointed acting head the CPT’s organization for Sughd province, Imoil Talbakov, Secretary of the CPT, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the issue of election of Mubinjon Mahmoudov as the first secretary of the CPT’s organization for Sughd will be considered at a plenum of the CPT’s organization for Sughd that will take place in Khujand in early January next year.

We will recall that the CPT congress that took place in Dushanbe on December 27 expelled from the party Abdujabbor Ahmadov, who was allegedly elected head of the CPT’s organization for Sughd province illegally.

According to Talbakov, Abdujabbor Ahmadov has had nothing to do with the party over the last six years.

Founded in 1918, the Communist Party of Tajikistan was registered in 1991.  According to some sources, the party now has more than 45,000 members.  Shodi Shabdolov is leader of the party.
