DUSHANBE, April 17, 2015, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmon has called on members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) to strengthen security by law.

Addressing the first session of the Majlisi Milli of the fifth convocation in Dushanbe on April 17, Rahmon called on parliamentarians to fruitfully work on addressing new challenges and threats.

According to him, new challenges and threats set new tasks on elaborating laws that would promote strengthening of stability and security in the country.

“We live in a time, when the international community faces geostrategic changes, the struggle for natural resources intensifies and financial and economic crisis sweeps the world,” the president stressed, noting that such a situation poses threat to political and economic system of the country.
