DUSHANBE, July 14, 2015, Asia-Plus — Over the first six months of this, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to 2.005.1 billion U.S. dollars, which was 78.1 percent of the January-June 2014 level or 563.4 million USD fewer, the Customs Service head Abdufattoh Ghoib announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 14.  

Over the report period, the trade balance has been negative and amounted to 1.144.5 billion U.S. dollars.

In January-June this year, exports of goods have amounted to 430.3 million U.S. dollars, 36.9 million USD or 7.9 percent fewer than in the same period last.

Over the same six-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 1.574.1 billion U.S. dollars, which was 526 million USD or 25.1 percent fewer than in the same period last year.

In January-May, major partners for Tajikistan’s exports were:  Turkey – 27.8 percent; Switzerland – 21.5 percent; Kazakhstan – 18.5 percent; Iran – 7.1 percent; Russia – 6.6 percent; Afghanistan – 4.2 percent; Pakistan – 3.2 percent; and others.   

Over the same six-month period, major partners for Tajikistan imports were: Russia – 31.6 percent; China – 17.1 percent; Kazakhstan – 16.8 percent; and others.
