DUSHANBE, July 28, 2015, Asia-Plus — Coca-Cola Icecek A.S., which is a part of the Coca-Cola System, plans to expand its operations in Tajikistan in the new future, Lochin Fayzullozoda, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), told reporters in Dushanbe on July 27.

“In October this year, GosKomInvest and Coca-Cola Icecek A.S. will sign an agreement on introducing the second line of the Coca Cola bottling plant into operation,” Fayzullozoda said, noting that the agreement will be signed on the sidelines of the 2nd international investment forum that will take place in Dushanbe on October 14.

According to him, Coca-Cola Icecek A.S. plans to invest additional 20 million U.S. dollars in expansion of its operations in Tajikistan.

We will recall that GosKomInvest and Coca-Cola Icecek A.S. signed an agreement on construction of a soft drink producer, Coca-Cola Nushokihoi Tojikiston, in Dushanbe in January this year and the first line was introduced into operation in six months after the agreement was signed.  Coca-Cola Icecek A.S. reportedly invested 50 million U.S. dollars in construction of the first line of the plant.

Coca-Cola Icecek A.S. is an anchor bottler and a part of the Coca-Cola System.  It is 50.3% owned by Anadolu Efes S.K., 20% owned by the Coca-Cola Company, 4% owned by Ozgorkey Holding, and the remaining 25.6% publicly traded on the Turkish stock exchanges.  It is the 6th largest bottler in the Coca-Cola System in terms of sales volume. The company is headquartered in Istanbul.

The company is the bottler of Coca-Cola products in Azerbaijan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Jordan, as well as its home country of Turkey.
