Kidnapping people in Tajikistan has become more common than selling them

Dushanbe. 20 August. “Asia Plus” — Ten incidents of kidnapping have been reported by the law-enforcement agencies of Tajikistan for the first seven months of this year, said the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan. Thus, two people in the country`s territory have been abducted during the last month.

In January-July of the previous year only two cases of kidnapping were recorded.

Meanwhile, the registration of trafficking cases has decreased from 22 cases in the first seven months of last year to 12 cases in the same period this year.

According to the Agency, in the first half of the year increased the registration of theft cases (36.1%), including residential (21.3%), assaults related to robbery (25.1%), fraud (17.5%), murders and attempted murders (13.8%), bribery (0.9%).

The Agency notes a decrease in the registration of intentional grievous bodily harm (30.7%), rape and attempted rape (11.5%), robbery (14%), crimes related with drugs (11.4%), and bullying (4%).

In general, in January-Jule this year in Tajikistan registered about 3.3 thousand grave crimes. This is 14.2% more in comparison with the same period last year.
