Dushanbe. 24 August. “Asia Plus” —  In Beijing, Tajik hammer thrower took the second place with the result of 78.55 meters.

Known Tajik hammer thrower Dilshod Nazarov won a silver medal in the World Championship in Athletics in Beijing.

As the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan reported, on August 23 in Beijing (China) Tajik hammer thrower Dilshod Nazarov won the second place with the result of 78.55 m. (The second attempt – 78.06 m) and was awarded a silver medal and received 30 thousands of dollars.

It should be noted that it was the the first time when Dilshod won a medal at the World Championship.

First place went to the Polish athlete Paul Faydek (80.88 m), bronze – to the Pole Wojciech Nowicki (78.55 m, the second attempt – 77.20 m).

On August 22 at the Olympic Stadium “Bird”s Nest” in Beijing started 15th in a row World Championship in Athletics. For nine days the representatives of the “queen of sports” will compete for 47 sets of medals.

Owners of gold medals will receive 60 thousand dollars, silver – 30 thousand, bronze – 20 thousand. The team won the relay race, will receive 80 thousand dollars, which has become the second – 40 thousand, the third – 20 thousand. Athletes, who will set a world record, receive 100 thousand dollars.
