DUSHANBE, September 14, 2015, Asia-Plus – Visiting Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev today held talks with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the two expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between their countries.

Emomali Rahmon, in particular, said that Tajikistan attaches significance to its relations with Kazakhstan and noted that Nazarbayev’s visit will open a new page in the relations between the two countries.

Kazakh leader, for his part, stressed that “there have never been no and there will be no problems in the relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.”  

“We wish peace and accord to Tajikistan, which is our strategic partner, because peace in Tajikistan is important for us as well and we are ready to support development of Tajikistan’s economy,” President Nazarbayev was quoted as saying.
